Pediatrics is an area where emerging technologies have been implemented successfully to address the needs of this specific population. The IFCC Emerging Technologies Division has recently defined an emerging technology as “an analytical method or device that by virtue of its stage of development, translation into broad routine clinical practice, or geographical adoption and implementation has the potential to add value to clinical practice.” The role of emerging technologies and its introduction throughout the diagnostic cycle will be discussed using examples in the general laboratory and those laboratories supporting regional and national programs such as newborn bloodspot screening and rare disease programs.
This webinar comprises of three following presentations of 20 min each followed by 20 min of panel discussion at the end.
