A Continuing Crisis: The Community Health Workforce Shortage and COVID-19

Media Briefing

February 1, 2022 l 11:00-12:00pm ET

Event Overview

Join Advocates for Community Health (ACH) for a timely conversation with community health center leaders from across the country as they face the ongoing crisis of health care workforce shortage and a Congressional Stalemate in the midst of the pandemic.  Community health centers have a decades-long record of providing comprehensive care to nearly 30 million patients in underserved communities nationwide each year.  Additionally, health centers employ a diverse workforce that reflects the communities they serve.  Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, these hyper-local health care hubs have been instrumental in providing testing, vaccinations, and continued comprehensive care for populations in need.  Hear from ACH members as they share firsthand the challenges their overstretched workforce is facing and urge leaders in Washington to take action to invest in immediate and long-term solutions.
