Obesity Stigma at Work: Improving Inclusion and Productivity

Recorded: Tuesday 15th December 2020

Overview

Research has found that weight-based discrimination is rife in the workplace and occurs at every stage of the employment cycle. Obesity stigma at work often results in hidden wage penalties, fewer opportunities for promotion, reduced workplace wellbeing, increased stress and a higher likelihood of being dismissed.

Join our webinar where we will discuss the first findings from the PURPOSE programme, focussing on improving national productivity levels via better employment and labour market outcomes for those living with overweight or obesity.

Novo Nordisk has provided funding to the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) to undertake the creation of the PURPOSE programme, including the creation, development and delivery of this webinar. Novo Nordisk has had no influence over the planning or agenda for this webinar or this programme. IES retains full and final editorial control over this webinar and all aspects of the PURPOSE programme.
