Recent Updates on SARS-CoV-2 Biology and Diagnostics

March 15, 2023

[EDT: 9:00 AM, CET: 2:00 PM, Beijing 9:00 AM]

This webinar will give an overview on the Recent updates on SARS-CoV-2 biology and diagnostics. Owing to the continuous evolution of SARS-CoV-2 genome, the approach to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will need to be continuously updated, as will be our knowledge of the biological, clinical and diagnostic aspects of this infectious pathology. Moreover, the ongoing development of new (bivalent) vaccines will contribute to make COVID-19 an endemic disease, thus leading the way to increasing our knowledge on the immune response (cellular, humoral, memory) to vaccination, to optimize and prioritize vaccine administration to those who need more.

This webinar comprises of three following presentations of 20 min each followed by 20 min of panel discussion at the end.

Chair: Prof. Giuseppe Lippi

Talk 1- "Evolving genetics of SARS-CoV-2: Clinical biological and diagnostic implications"  Dr. Brandon M. Henry

Talk 2- "Pearls and pitfalls in SARS-CoV-2 antigen testing?" Mr.  Julien Favresse

Talk 3- "Cellular and humoral immunity after the new COVID-19 bivalent vaccination" Prof. Giuseppe Lippi
