There has been siginificant push over the last few years for global pharmacopeias to consider the recombinant Factor C (rFC) assay as an equivalent endotoxin detection method to LAL-based, compendial bacterial endotoxin tests (BET). In recent months, several global pharmacopeias have announced plans to begin incorporating the rFC method into upcoming revisions of their respective BET chapter or as a standalone chapter dedicated to the methodology. Lonza Subject Matter Expert Allen Burgenson, will explore the new regulatory landscape for the rFC method and provide clarity on what users need to do implement the rFC method in their labs.
